- The Lower Austrian Annual Exhibition entitled “Bread & Wine” will be in Asparn an der Zaya and Poysdorf Station from 27 April to 3 November 2013. The Museum of Prehistory in Asparn an der Zaya will present the history of bread. And Poysdorf Station will showcase everything of interest about wine.
This museum housed in Asparn Castle on the Zaya River is one of the most significant venues for the presentation of the history of human civilization in Austria. The impressive exhibitions show what life was like from the age of the mammoth hunters some 40,000 years ago to the Celtic culture about 2,000 years ago. The castle park features reconstructions of prehistoric dwellings in their original size and offers fascinating insights into the advance of humankind.
The park is also ideal for the activity programs of the museum that teach visitors about prehistoric handicrafts, spear-throwing, archery or herbs. Special events can also be staged there, such as hearty barbarian banquets and prehistoric Olympics.
